Adventures in Battery Changing

Wine
This adventure begins about a week ago when I tried a wine that might possibly be my new favorite. The only problem is, it is only found on the other side of town. I know this because this past weekend I went to five different stores only to have store managers look at me like I am crazy. “No, we carry no such thing”

Batteries
tc’s best friend had a little car trouble this week and called him over for some help on Tuesday. tc had to cancel our walking date because his friend was in need. I was completely understanding, as I tend to be, mostly because his bff lives right over where the wine is sold and I was promised he would pick some up.
The funny this about tc’s best friend calling him to help with the car troubles is that tc isn’t the hunting, fishing, handyman, car fixer upper that his dad hoped he would be. In fact, our version of car maintenance is picking the best oil repair shop and tow service company. I guess it just turns out that his friend is even less of a fixer upper because we at least had the tools necessary to do the job. So tc, being the good friend that he is, took his tool set over to hid friend house and was gone for three hours and came home as I was getting ready to go to bed. Unfortunately for tc, his friend and the car the battery was still not fixed, they were going to need special tools that were not contained in the previously unopened tool box. Unfortunately for me, he came home with no wine.

The Next Night

So tc has to go over to the friends one more night, but this time has to stop at Home Depot first. Normally I might be a little bit disappointed by this, but it gives me another shot at the wine so I am totally okay. This time, however, tc realizes if I go he can take the HOV lane and it shortens his trip in half. Normally this would be absurd but he lured me in to the drive with a promise of sushi and going to pick out my wine without instructing him through the process, a prospect I could not pass up.
So I pack up a couple of books to read and we set out on our way. First, to Home Depot to pick up a tool which should have taken all of about 5 minutes but due to unknowledgeable staff and faulty check out equipment took about forty five minutes. Then off the friends house to change the battery which should have taken 20 minutes but due to unknowledgeable boys playing with cars and a faulty engine took 2 hours. So by the time we leave I am hungry, and tired of being in the car. So we go to find the sushi restaurant, we can’t find it and I am too hungry to care, I just want anything at this point. Then to the wine store, at least this is going to end my week long search for the wine. Can’t find the wine store. Damn. So I spent my entire evening sitting in a truck waiting for the boys to fix the car or driving around trying to find non existent places and end up at home starving and ready for bed.

And that is why you should not eat raw fish or drink the nectar of the devil.

The end.
